Coastal Communities

Cardiff By The Sea

Most commonly referred to as Cardiff, this ocean-facing community features sandy beaches and stunning cliffs. It has a similar atmosphere to Encinitas, and is in fact located within Encinitas, but it does have it’s own zip code. Cardiff offers an even wider array of things to do. If being in nature and hiking are two of your favorite pastimes, you’ll find no shortage of activities in Cardiff. Explore the reefs, state beaches, and of course, pay a visit to the Cardiff Kook.

Del Mar

Since the legendary days of Hollywood’s golden years, Del Mar has been the destination of choice for many a movie star as well as those with a taste for pictorial beaches, oceanfront dining and fast horses.

Along with the Del Mar Fairgrounds, home to the Del Mar Races and San Diego County Fair, the historic and charming Del Mar Village offers a variety of boutique shops, charming al fresco restaurants and both luxury and beachfront hotels — all conveniently located off the main Camino Del Mar strip.

Recently named one of the 20 best surf towns in the world by National Geographic, Encinitas is a surfers paradise. Residents here enjoy the traditional laid-back Southern California vibe and coastal views. It’s a trendy city to visit and an even better place to live if the ocean is your second home.

Solana Beach

This seaside community is perfect for anyone looking for close proximity to the Pacific Ocean. Whether it’s your primary residence or a townhome, Solana Beach is a luxurious neighborhood filled with energy and activity. Just south of Solana Beach is Del Mar and Encinitas to the north. Solana Beach residents enjoy the laid back charm of coastal living in a less exclusive environment.
